Network Insights

Network Insights provides proactive observations about your network health, gathered automatically from all connected data sources.

How It Works

TowerOps continuously analyzes data from SNMP polling, service checks, Preseem, Gaiia reconciliation, and its own system health to surface actionable findings. Insights are categorized by source, urgency, and type so you can focus on what matters.

Checks run on their own cadences: system and wireless-client rules every five minutes, backhaul capacity every fifteen, and the deeper passes, device health, multi-source recommendations, and Gaiia reconciliation, nightly. Stale insights auto-resolve after seven days unless the condition is still present, in which case the next run recreates them.

Insight Types

  • Reconciliation Findings: Devices that exist in TowerOps but not in Gaiia (or vice versa), data mismatches between systems, and firmware mismatches
  • Performance Anomalies: QoE degradation and upstream degradation detected from Preseem baselines, plus high CPU, memory, or disk on SNMP devices
  • Wireless Health: Weak signal or SNR, overloaded access points, coverage gaps, missing wireless clients, channel conflicts, and CPEs that need realigning
  • Configuration Drift: Detected changes to device configurations, suspected config changes, and AP frequency changes
  • Capacity Warnings: Access points, sectors, and backhaul links approaching or over their utilization thresholds
  • Device & System Health: Overheating, poll gaps, and offline poller agents
  • Weather Risk: Sites facing an outage risk from forecast weather, and wind events that warrant a post-storm alignment check

AI Analysis

When an LLM API key is configured, insights are enriched nightly with an AI-generated summary and recommended action, marked with an AI badge. A separate nightly pass also asks the model for network-wide observations the rule-based checks miss, which appear as AI observation insights.

Filtering & Management

Use the filter bar to narrow insights by status (active, dismissed, or resolved), source (Preseem, Gaiia, SNMP, System, or AI), and urgency (critical, warning, or info). Each insight shows affected devices and sites as clickable links so you can drill directly into the detail page.

Dismiss insights you've reviewed to keep the active list clean, and restore them from the Dismissed tab. Bulk actions let you select multiple insights, or all of a group, at once.

Tip: Connect your Gaiia and Preseem integrations in Organization Settings to get the most comprehensive insights.
