Organization Settings

Organization Settings is the central hub for configuring your TowerOps organization. Reach it from the Settings item in the sidebar, or from Organization Settings in the account menu. The settings page uses a tabbed interface to organize different configuration areas.

General Tab

The General tab lets you manage basic organization properties:

  • Organization Name - The display name for your organization
  • Default Organization - Set this as the default org when logging in (shown once you belong to more than one organization)
  • Site Organization - The "Use sites to organize devices" checkbox turns site-based organization on or off (see the Sites section for details)
  • Alert Routing - Choose how alerts reach your team: TowerOps built-in schedules and escalation policies, PagerDuty, or both

SNMP Tab

Configure organization-wide SNMP defaults used for device polling, under the SNMP Configuration heading:

  • SNMP Version - Choose between v1, v2c, or v3
  • SNMP Community String - Shown for v1 and v2c
  • SNMPv3 Credentials - Security level (no auth/no priv, auth/no priv, auth/priv), username, auth protocol and password, and privacy protocol and password
  • SNMP Port - SNMP port (default: 161)

Credential Hierarchy

SNMP credentials follow a hierarchy: Device > Site > Organization. Device-level settings take the highest priority, followed by site-level, then organization-level defaults. This lets you set sensible defaults while overriding for specific locations or devices.

Once SNMP defaults are configured, the Force Apply to All Devices box appears with the Apply SNMP Config to All Devices button, which pushes the saved organization SNMP settings to every device, overriding device and site-level customizations. Save your changes first: the button applies the last saved settings and is disabled while the form has unsaved edits.

Agents Tab

Manage agent assignments for your organization:

  • Remote Agents - The table of agents registered to this organization; the radio button in its Default column picks the organization default
  • Cloud polling - The "No default agent - cloud polling" row keeps unassigned devices on cloud polling
  • Current Device Assignment - How devices are spread across the device-level override, site inheritance, the organization default, and cloud polling

Once the organization has a default agent, the Force Apply to All Devices box appears with the Apply Default Agent to All Devices button, which assigns that agent to every device, overriding any device or site-level agent selections. As on the SNMP tab, save your changes first.

Other Tabs

  • Members - Invite someone by email with a role (Admin, Executive, Technician, or Viewer) and review pending invitations
  • Access - Every member, live session and credential that can reach this organization, with a CSV export for renewal-time security reviews; owners and admins see the rows, everyone else sees a permission panel
  • Billing - Subscription and billing: current plan, device usage, estimated monthly cost, and the buttons that open Stripe to upgrade or manage billing
